Ancient Egyptian Workshop

Year Five's Ancient Egyptian Workshop

Today,Year 5 children were transported back in time to the Ancient Egyptian period and our school hall became the city of Akhetaten, built by the Pharaoh Akhenaten. Children became traders, craftsmen, slaves and even members of the Royal court and were busy at tasks whilst sharing the latest gossip about the city.

Year 5 were able to choose from many great activities - canopic jars, making lamps, carving shabtis from soap, making bread and amulets and even using clay to make perfume cones that melted on your head! All of these activities were in preparation for the appointment of a new high priest of Aten.

A selection of the crafts made by Year 5
